Final YAMP meeting for 2008

For those who can make it to the final YAMP meeting of 2008 it will be held in MS3 on December 18th from 4pm onwards. Apart from snacking on some nibblies, we will be discussing what went wrong with the YAMP project this year.

Please give some thought to the following questions before coming to the meeting so on the day we can exchange our ideas:
  1. What did you feel were the barriers to this project - what did you struggle with the most?
  2. How could we have solved these problems?
  3. What did you learn from your experiences in the YAMP group this year?
  4. What could we have done differently?
  5. What projects would you like to work on next year?

This type of reflective practice is important in order to learn from our experiences. If you are unable to attend the final YAMP meeting, please post your answers to these questions on the blog, however this last meeting is a very important one so please try to make it on the day.

Follow up from previous meeting

Hello YAMPers!

Last Thursday we held a YAMP meeting that unfortunately was only attended by two people. We took advantage of the time to discuss what needed to be accomplished before a filming date can be scheduled.

There are a few things we need to finalise:
1. A well planned storyboard
2. A script
3. A list of names for those who are planning on attending the filming date, and an explanation of what role each person is to take (for example, cameraman, lighting, actor, director etc)
4. Written permission from your parents to attend the filming day
5. The finished giant book prop
6. An agreed upon date!!

Nathan and Jeremy began work on the storyboard but we do still need to get that finished, as well as a script and a confirmed list of participants before approval for filming can go ahead.

Just keep in mind that there is no strict date by which this project needs finishing, so it is much preferred that we take all the time needed to properly plan for this film to make sure that it is of good quality rather than rushing to get it finished.

Please post a comment to let everyone know where you are up to in preparing for filming and what role you want to take on the day. If you know of other people in the YAMP group who do not have access to this blog can you please pass this message along to them?
